Global Trade · Perth WA

JATT Global Pty Ltd (ABN 93 702 115 446) (“JATT Global”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides global trade and business services from Perth, Western Australia, including import and export support, sourcing, logistics coordination and related business services. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information we hold about you.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, disclose and otherwise manage personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained within it.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to all personal information collected by JATT Global through our website at jattglobal.site, our enquiry and quote forms, written correspondence, and in the course of providing our global trade and business services. It also applies to personal information we collect about suppliers, contractors, business partners and website visitors.

Where we act as an agent or intermediary for a client in trade transactions, we may handle personal information on the client’s instructions. In those circumstances, we handle that information in accordance with this policy and any applicable written agreement.

2. Personal information we collect

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether recorded in a material form or not. Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact details — your name, business or company name, role or position, email address, postal address and delivery or shipping addresses;
  • Enquiry and quote details — the content of messages you send us, your stated requirements, and details submitted through our enquiry, contact and quote request forms;
  • Transaction and order details — information about goods, quantities, suppliers, destinations and shipping preferences reasonably necessary for us to deliver trade and business services;
  • Billing and payment-related information — such as billing names, addresses and purchase order references. Where card payments are processed, they are handled by third-party payment providers and we do not store full card details;
  • Website usage information — pages viewed, referring website, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from IP address, collected on an aggregated basis where practicable;
  • Communication records — records of correspondence between you and our team.

We do not generally collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act), such as health information or information about racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or religious beliefs. We will only collect sensitive information with your consent or where permitted or required by law.

3. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information in a number of ways, including:

  • Directly from you — when you submit an enquiry, contact or quote request form on this website, when you email us, when you engage our services, and in the ordinary course of written correspondence;
  • From third parties — such as referrers, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers or service providers acting on our behalf, where reasonably necessary to provide services to you;
  • Automatically — through cookies, analytics tools and similar technologies when you use our website (see section 7).

Where it is reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information directly from you.

4. Why we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including:

  • providing, performing and administering our global trade and business services;
  • responding to enquiries and preparing quotes and proposals;
  • establishing and managing client accounts, orders, shipments and payments;
  • complying with legal and regulatory obligations, including customs, trade compliance, taxation (including GST) and record-keeping obligations;
  • communicating with you about our services, including service updates and, where you have opted in or would reasonably expect it, marketing communications;
  • operating, securing and improving our website and services;
  • preventing, detecting and addressing fraud, unlawful activity and misuse of our services;
  • any other purpose to which you consent, or as permitted or required under the APPs and the Privacy Act.

We will not use or disclose personal information for an unrelated secondary purpose unless an exception under the Privacy Act applies, or you have consented to that use or disclosure.

5. Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to third parties where reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • service providers who host our website, store or process data on our behalf, process payments, or provide information technology, accounting, legal or administrative support;
  • freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses and other trade partners engaged to deliver services to you;
  • professional advisers, including accountants, auditors and lawyers;
  • government agencies, regulators, customs authorities and law enforcement bodies, where required or authorised by law;
  • a prospective or actual successor entity in the event of a restructure, merger or sale of our business, subject to confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. Where we engage third-party service providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle personal information in a manner consistent with this policy and the APPs.

6. Overseas disclosure

Global trade is, by nature, an international activity. Some of our service providers and trade partners may be located outside Australia, and some of our data storage (for example, cloud hosting and email services) may involve servers located overseas. As a result, personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients.

Where personal information is likely to be disclosed to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps, consistent with APP 8, to ensure that the recipient does not breach the APPs in relation to that information. The countries involved may change from time to time depending on the service providers and trade partners we engage. If you would like current information about the countries involved in handling your personal information, please contact us at ceo@jattglobal.site.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security and to understand how the site is used — for example, aggregated analytics such as page views, session duration and referral sources. This helps us improve the website and the services we offer.

Most browsers allow you to manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the website may not function as intended. We do not use cookies to build individual advertising profiles without notifying you, and we do not link cookie data to sensitive information.

8. Security of personal information

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, consistent with APP 11. Our measures include access controls on internal systems, encrypted connections for data in transit, secure storage practices and internal confidentiality expectations for our team and contractors.

While we take these reasonable steps, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we identify that personal information we hold has been subject to an eligible data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required.

9. Retention and destruction

We hold personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, to satisfy legal, accounting and taxation record-keeping requirements, and to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or ensure it is de-identified, in accordance with the Privacy Act.

10. Access and correction

Under APPs 12 and 13, you have a right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request correction of that information if you believe it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.

To make a request, email us at ceo@jattglobal.site. We will respond to your request within a reasonable period. There is generally no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for providing a copy of the information. We may decline a request in limited circumstances permitted by the Privacy Act; if we do, we will explain our reasons and the options available to you.

11. Anonymity and pseudonymity

Where it is lawful and practicable, you have the option of dealing with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, because of the nature of global trade and business services, we generally need identifying details to respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, perform services or comply with legal obligations.

12. Direct marketing

We may send you information about our services where you have consented, requested it, or where it is otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act and you would reasonably expect to receive it. Every marketing communication we send includes a simple means of opting out, and you may also ask us to stop sending marketing communications at any time by emailing ceo@jattglobal.site. We will action opt-out requests promptly and free of charge.

13. Third-party websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, such as government trade resources or partner sites. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of websites we do not operate. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.

14. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle personal information, or if you believe we may have breached the Privacy Act or the APPs, please take the following steps:

  1. Contact us at ceo@jattglobal.site with the details of your complaint, including how we can contact you.
  2. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and investigate it fairly and impartially, aiming to provide a written response within 30 days.
  3. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Further information is available at www.oaic.gov.au.

We take privacy complaints seriously and will handle them respectfully and without cost to you.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law, technology, or our practices and service offerings. The current version will always be published on this page, together with the date of the most recent update. We encourage you to review this page periodically so you remain informed about how we protect your personal information.
